2nd Generation CGM Providence member boldly speaks out against the injustice, prejudice, and discrimination that CGM has been experiencing in the face of a biased media and court system
“Hi, I’m a 2nd generation member born into CGM. My name is Kang Ho Jin. JMS is a proud name for us. But in this society, we’re subject to finger-pointing and hatred. We’re not a group that gathers, shouts slogans, and protests. Rather, we’re people who like to read the Bible, meditate on God’s Word, and pray. We testify for the grace of salvation that we’ve received and show mercy to those in need. However, false and irresponsible reports and broadcasts of the media made us the target of a 21st century witch hunt, and we suffered from mass character murder.
More than 10,000 indiscriminate media reports in 3 months accused P. Jung of being a sex offender and condemned CGM. Netflix’s “In the Name of God” is an obvious lie and a false documentary that sold its conscience. The National Institute of Scientific Investigation’s analysis result of the audio recording, which is the decisive evidence of the accuser, is that they could not confirm the file’s authenticity. A reliable American voice analysis company also said that manipulative voice editing cannot be ruled out. They said it was doubtful whether it was a true incident.
Does it make sense to deliberately become a victim in order to make a recording? In the end, we found evidence of manipulative edits of the recorded file. Please verify the truth with the (counter-)evidence. Another reason we’re crying out while coughing up blood is P. Jung had an unfair trial. One of the two accusers in 2008 made a declaration of conscience for the false accusations, but it was disregarded. Even though he was acquitted of the charges in China, where sex offenders are sentenced to death, in Korea, he was given a 10-year sentence based only on the victim’s statement alone.
The pastor is currently on trial due to biased public opinion. Courts do not listen to us; they just want to make decisions. They even dismissed the unavoidable application for challenge by the defense counsel. We appeal to the judiciary!!
Please listen to our story without prejudice formed by public opinion and distorted reporting. We appeal for a fair trial based on thorough evidence based on the principle of presumption of innocence, which is the basic principle of criminal trial. Please apply the rule of law.
We as members of CGM practice the spirit of love and peace of Jesus in each person’s position and life. We are moral, ethical, and clean. P. Jung Myung Seok is the one who has lived a life of loving God and Jesus. Even in the face of death, he lived a life that kept the word of Jesus to love his enemies. He is a true, true priest who does only God’s Will.
We are all the head and children of families like yours. We are brothers, neighbors, and citizens who are protected by the Constitution of the Republic of Korea. Do not consider us unconditionally as a heresy. Please do not turn a blind eye to our appeals regarding the false charge on Pastor Jung. Thank you.”
